I stumbled upon this calendar in a bookstore here in Seattle and I was quickly attracted by its Italian name (quadretto means ‘little square’). As I pulled up the cover and saw the names of the months and days written in my mother tongue (and in English) I had no doubt that I just found a product of Italian design. A few clicks afterward, I learned that the Quadretto Wall calendar is produced by the NavaDesign company, which was founded in 1970 and is based in Milan. Quadretto Wall is a “monthly wall calendar, 49×68 cm, created by the NavaDesign style office. The epitome of minimalism expressed in a two-tone print (grey and black), with straight lines that cross to indicate the days of the week. Spiral binding and hook. Days and months in English and Italian. Glossy 100 g/sq m paper”. Quadretto Wall is available for purchase on the NavaDesign website for $27.
PS Although the photo shows the 2017 version, the 2018 version is now available.
