This past week forty-five Italian startups have participated in the annual consumer technology show in Las Vegas. The main objective of their participation was to represent the added value and innovative philosophy of the Made in Italy. The primary promoter of this initiative that has had the final goal of creating a “mini Italian village” within the perimeter of CES has been Michele Balbi, president of Tilt (Teorema Incubation Lab of Trieste).
The Italian participation to the trade show has been conceived thinking about thematic areas based on the industry, such as FashionTech, AgroTech and FoodTech, BioTech, MedTech, and so on.
Interesting examples are products such as Beautiful Box, which is the first “pet-sitter” device that helps owners manage their pets when they are not home, by entertaining and training them; Beltmap, a navigation device for the blind; Spirugrow, a machine that makes fresh Spirulina straight from a fully automated device able to grow the algae at home; Agrumino Orange, by Lifely, a wireless sensor to monitor the environmental conditions of your plants, helping you grow them; LumenTile a luminous electronic tile, capable of emitting lights and colors, and displaying images on horizontal (floor) or vertical (wall) applications; Woolf, a bracelet made for motorcyclists thanks to which they no longer have to worry about checking speed limits and other sensitive points, and which help them reach the right speed; ShargeMe, which is a project that provides services for the electric vehicles industry, by giving EVs owners the possibility to sell an agreed percentage of their unutilized battery charge to other electric vehicles; and many more.
Keep up the good work Italian startups!
